Hand woven in wool and native to Turkey around 1950-1960, this article is a vintage Kilim rug that evokes a Turkish diamond motif from the middle of the last century, appeared at that time, known for producing Kilim rugs with modern and minimalist appeal in geometry and vivid hues. Among the many shades that alternate in rows between striped patterns, warm gold and cold blue juxtapose with an ironic look that brings out the variations of rich red, green, bright white and bold black tones, creating diamond patterns with a tribal sense of attitude. The finesse of the graphic in this scale marries the exciting nature of the color variation in a very accessible and inviting atmosphere that does not contrast with the striking nature for which this particular family of vintage Kilim rugs is known in lineages of Turkish Kilim.
