About This Piece

Important bronze with brown patina after Frederic Remington (1861-1909) American painter, designer and sculptor.
This work represents a cabin horse at the sight of a snake. The tension between the two animals makes the position of the unfortunate cowboy uncomfortable.
The rider, with a revolver, waders and a hat that he tries to keep on his head, clings desperately to his frightened horse.
This scene suspended in time, retraces the great hours of the American Far West, and will notably appeal to aficionados of an era marked by this "conquest of the West".
