Beautiful sculpture in alabaster representing the bust of Joan of Arc after the work of Giuseppe Bessi (1857-1922), sculptor known for his work combining neoclassicism and art nouveau.
Joan is depicted as an innocent peasant woman wearing a drapery. Looking up at the sky, she already has in her eyes the determination that we know her for, the one that will later chase the English from Orleans.
This sculpture rests on an onyx pedestal.
This bust of Joan of Arc, finely realized, will please in particular lovers of the history of France.
