This is a grand antique overmantle mirror. An English, giltwood wall mirror in Italianate taste, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850.

Enhance your chimney breast wall with this generous mirror
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
Giltwood presents delightful golden tones to the frame
Sparkly mirror plate presents minimal foxing and a clear reflection

Pinched top with concave corners, a relief patera to the centre
Beading accentuates the frame edge as a decorative touch
Wide, fan-shaped lower corners with appealing cross-hatch pattern
Dressed with a set of brass hanging loops for wall mounting
