Vintage Design

Elegant freestanding floor lamp produced by Pokrok company in Czechoslovakia in 1960s. Original label still attached. Pokrok was one of the companies that loved invetional and using new materials. Hence the combination of using plastic material (shield) with the metal base was untraditional. The shield has a plastic outer layer, but is wax-paper inside. This was a traditional method for mood lamps. The base is made of strong black metal in a slim and elegant construction. It has a ver ymid-century vibe. The lamp work on one bulb and can be considered more of a mood light, the light from the shield is not very strong. European plug. Fully functional. Some wear visible on the plastic shield. The shield in 23cm in diameter.
