Vintage Design

Pair of bistro chairs in the style of curved wood Thonet chairs. Indeed, Michael Thonet has worked enormously in the development of the curved wood technique. He was inspired by other areas such as cooperage and boat manufacturers who thought of exploiting the natural elasticity of wood. His revolutionary idea was to boil wooden leaves of the same thickness in glue to give them the desired curvature. The seat is cane. France, middle of the 20th century.
