Story & Message: You thought you won, you conquered it. But here it is. Back with you again. Some battles never end, but you can master the skills of a warrior. From my project “Resistance” “The more important a call or action to our soul’s evolution, the more Resistance we will feel toward pursuing it.” - Steven Pressfield “The War of Art” Newton’s 3rd law of physics says: “To every action, there is always opposed an equal reaction”. Often we feel this very concrete law of physics in our psychological struggles. Every attempt to grow, to do something new, to learn, and to develop will inevitably face some kind of reaction. Something be it our environment, family, circumstances, but most often our own beliefs and self-talk don’t allow us to make our next steps and attempts to block the growth. This force, this resistance can come in any shape or form: indecision, negative self-talk, procrastination, conflicts, fear, doubt, self-sabotage, shame, guilt. This project attempts to show in a metaphorical way all those types of things that can block our creativity and growth. My hope is that every person, facing the resistance of some kind realizes that, in the end, the resistance it’s not real and can be blown away like a piece of paper when you know exactly why you need the growth and why you want to create. I explore themes of emotions, relationships, self-discovery, and self-redefinition. Each photograph that you will see here will take you on a journey into the soul of a character and, at the same time, will probably make you think about the events and things in your life that have marked you the most and perhaps changed your life. What kind of feeling does it bring to your home? Peace and quiet. Strength and confidence. A bit of melancholy. With a bit of caprice, mystery, and fantasy. It will always be a gentle and quiet reminder that nothing is what it seems and that you always have to go deeper to perceive its true meaning. How I work : I choose muted tones, strictly curated compositions, clean, minimalist spaces, and lots of symbolism to convey my ideas. Each visual story has a precise plot but is always open to interpretation. My Process : Each photo requires between a week and several months of planning and preparation: thinking about the story and plot, planning the color palette, sketching, scouting locations, creating props, choosing the appropriate wardrobe, search for suitable make-up and hairstyle, then assembly of the set. In most cases, a whole crew is involved in the filming process. I never use stock images to create my art, I photograph all the details myself, on location. After shooting is complete, post-processing a single image takes an average of 5-7 hours in Lightroom and Photoshop. About Prints : I choose the most eco-friendly and sustainable materials to create my prints because I care about the world we live in. All works are printed on Hahnemühle Bamboo F paperineArt museum quality (290 gsm, 90% bamboo fiber, 10% cotton) and are Giclée prints with a life expectancy of up to 200 years.
