"Historical Bas Relief from The Petrifying Fountain Of Saint Nectaire" Inlay on molding Inlay is the technique allowing a limestone piece to be made by molding. Manufacturing time: between 6 and 14 months A matrix is created; we take an impression of it to obtain its mold in negative. The mold is placed under the water of the Petrifying Fountain. The calcite crystals fill the mold. The craftsman's know-how is exercised through the daily handling of the molds. It creates perfect cohesion and homogeneity of the limestone crystals between them. Then we proceed to unmold the part. Limestone objects will never be retouched or polished. This technique makes it possible to obtain great finesse of details.
