“L’ardoise” (120 X 100cm). A sparkling dappled light falls upon the scene through the softly sighing trees. A bistro in San Francisco rendered almost dreamlike in oils both thick and thin. Here Julian uses his brushes and his deep understanding of sun and shadow with obvious joy. This is a statement of the kind of beauty all too often ignored as we pass by, too busy to see.
