Vintage Design

Genoese Louis XVI chandelier in carved and gilded wood, late 1700s, six lights, consisting of a turned, carved and gilded wooden stem and six iron arms, also gilded with period crystals. It dates back to the end of the 1700s and is in an excellent state of preservation.

This chandelier is made with a central stem in carved wood, sculpted with plant motifs and gilded in fine gold; this central support, composed of several elements, is decorated with hand-wrought iron elements, connected by a multitude of festoons of transparent crystals, with some blue and red crystals, surmounted by crystal flowers with the corolla in embossed and gilded brass , an original detail which, together with the splendid original gilding, underlines the taste and timeless elegance of this living room chandelier, from the end of the 18th century

The six arms that branch off from the lower wooden element are made of curved and gilded iron, ending with bobeiges in gilded iron, given that the chandelier was originally lit with candles.

It comes from a private Milanese family, it is in excellent condition, the signs of wear in the gilding of the wooden elements, compatible with the eighteenth-century dating, have been restored and the electrical system has been redone from scratch, it works with six light bulbs E14. It has no chain and rosette.
