Special "sommerso" amber-red Murano glass bowl. This stunning piece is attributed to Seguso and was made in Italy in the 1970s. A wonderful bowl, in perfect vintage condition and amazing because of its irregular shape, like a falling drop touching the ground. The Sommerso technique was originally developed by Antonio Da Ross in the 1930s. Sommerso (Italian for "sunk") is the Murano glassmaking technique of creating two or more layers of contrasting glass without the colors mixing. It is formed by dipping colored glass into molten glass of a different color before blowing the glass into the desired shape. This mid-century decorative serving bowl looks elegant on any table. Practical for fruits or chocolate.
