Vintage Design

Lovely together in solid wood, composed of a coffee table and a pair of tripod stools works produced in collaboration by two major actors in French modernism in the 20th century.
The French architect and designer, Jean Prouvé and the architect and designate Swiss Pierre Jeanneret.
When friendship is present beyond collaboration.

Standardization claimed by Le Corbusier since the early 1920s, will affect the work of Pierre Jeanneret, his cousin, and later Jean Prouvé, his collaborator. Pierre Jeanneret had more professional ambitions in common with Jean Prouvé than the latter with Le Corbusier.

One of the important projects carried out by the two men was the "F 8 × 8 house". This project germinated in the mind of Jean Prouvé in the late 1930s. He joined forces with Pierre Jeanneret, in the midst of a disorder, in 1939, to carry out his project.

Materials and metal are missing, pushing the two architects to create from materials hitherto secondary, even non -existent, in their creations like wood.

Provisional and comfortable accommodation as well as furniture is then made in collaboration.
Continuing the same quest for modernity, and of ingenuity, Pierre Jeanneret and Jean Prouvé were able to respond to practical considerations while not sacrificing the quality of execution or the final aesthetics.
