Rare Goldscheider Art Deco ceramic figure of the 1930's: Dolores del Rio, a Mexican film actress, is shown as a Spanish dancer. The standing pretty woman has her hair tied in a bun at the nape of the neck, with a fan-like hair comb on the side with floral decorations and large creole earrings. Over the short dress with tiered ruffles, she wraps herself in a large, floor-length cloth with long fringes and floral embroidery, holding a folded fan in front of her chest in her right hand. On a cream-colored, octagonal, grooved base with artist signature. Designed by Josef LORENZL (1892-1950), one of the most important designers who worked for the Goldscheider manufactory in the period of 1920-1940. This Model 5616 was created circa 1927. made circa 1930
