Vincenzo Re (Parma, 1695 - Naples, 1762) Christ healing a sick man - Architectural Capriccio Oil on canvas, without frame cm. 50 x 63 - with frame cm. 70 x 92 Expertise by Professor Giancarlo Sestieri Vincenzo Re (1695 - 1762), born in Parma, was an Italian set designer who during his career initially worked as an assistant and then as head set designer at the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples. The work is an example of typical architectural capriccio. It represents an architectural fantasy that depicts the ruins of two temples joined by the arch of a bridge. The archaeological ruins are the backdrop to the main scene; Christ healing a paralytic.
